Dora Thelma Ward Bailey, age 76 of 1227 Norman Court, Eden and formerly of Huntington Trail, Cascade, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning June 10, 2011 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Bailey was born September 12, 1934 in Reidsville to the late Major and Sallie Ward. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. Dora was preceded in death along with her parents, her husband Bryant William Bailey, sisters; Gracie Brannock and Novella Massey and one brother; Lonnie Ward. Surviving is her son Eugene Bailey and wife Ruth, daughter; Carlene B. Toler and husband Henry, grandchildren; Samatha and Katherine Bailey and Elizabeth Toler all of Eden , sisters; Jewel Woodson and husband Douglas, Nellie Hawkins, Ethel Baker and husband Blaine, brother; Filmore Ward all of Reidsville, sister in laws Evelyna Wilson and husband Bill, Peggy Haley of Cascade, and her faithful pet companion "Oliver". Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 -2 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Home of Rockingham County, Po Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
