Carla “Montine” Shropshire Rodgers, 89, of Eden passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at her home.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10am Monday, April 15, 2024 at Danview Cemetery in Eden.

Montine was born July 8, 1934 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Paul Revere Shropshire and Grace Manuel Shropshire. She was a member of Osborne Baptist Church. Montine was formerly a licensed hairdresser. She enjoyed traveling and reading. Montine loved spending her time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her sister, Deleigh Pruitt of Eden; daughter, Tena Farmer of Eden and grandchildren, Dale Farmer of Eden and Laree Farmer of Charlotte; daughter Kathy Traina of S.C. and grandchildren, Kristin Traina of Atlanta, GA, and Kourtney Traina of Seattle, WA.

I have lived besde your mom most of my life. She was treated as one of our family on many occasions and myJeff helped her out many times. My daddy mowed her yard until he was not able to  any more. i will be praying for all of you during this time. Love y'all and may God keep you in His loving arms,. 

Tina and Kathy, sad to hear of Montine 's passing, I hadn't seen her in awhile, I used to see her in the grocery store, but I moved to Ruffin. Hugs and prayers for both of you ❤️ 

   Montine was an independent and determined woman and was a friend to my Mother (Juanita Stewart) for many, many years that also included many, many memories!    Please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers.
