Elizabeth "Hunky" Hopper Joyce, 92 of Settlement Loop , Stoneville , passed away on Thursday May 12, 2011 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. A graveside service will be held 2 pm Sunday at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Joyce was born November 28, 1918 in Spray, NC to the late Albert T. and Maude Nance Hopper. She was preceded in death by her husband Fletcher Ray Joyce also three brothers and two sisters. Elizabeth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stoneville and retired from Fieldcrest Mills. "Hunky" was a loving person, "to know her was to love her". All of her cats will miss her. Surviving are nieces; Janet H. Butler, Virginia Hooper, Judy Motley and Bonnie Moore, nephews; Benny Patterson, Bryon Patterson and Phillip Hopper. She had many friends and neigbors especially, Maude and Joe Brumbeloe, Rex Mabe, Patricia Bullins, and Shirley Joyce. Mrs. Joyce will not have a formal visitation, but friends may come by Fair Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning to pay their respects and sign the register.
