We were very saddened to hear about the loss of our wonderful family friend. He had a great personality and always a smile every time we saw him. He always was positive and was very happy. He is the kind of person other people should strive to be like. He will be missed by us very much.

Garnet and Gary I just found out about Larry. I am so heart broken about the news. Larry was like a brother to me. High School was such a great time for me because I had such a great friend in Larry. As long as the GOOD LORD lets me live I will always remember the hours we spent together. The countless hours playing croquet with Raymond and Larry will be a time I will never forget. We had so much fun doing that. I pray for the day when we three can be together again and battle each other again . O how great that time will be. My Love to you Eddie Fretwell .

I am so sorry to hear about Larry. We went to school together, and only smiled and waved at each other at church. He was such a nice and polite person. I don't know what to say, except all of you are in my prayers. And God be with you.

Garnet and Gary, Please accept my most heartfelt sympathy. I have fond memories of Larry from childhood. He and I were often paired together versus Wayne and Gary; we always had a great time. Saw Larry recently for the first time in many, many years and we had a nice reunion. It is true that friends made in childhood remain forever. May God grant your family His peace. Paul Thompson, Jr.

I am truly shocked and saddened of the news of Larry's passing. He and I were great friends through high school. I will never forget the early mornings before school at the Darnell's house, the wonderful hospitality from his mom, Larry playing a few 45 records, and then the short walk to Morehead. And fun weekends at the Darnell's watching classic ACC basketball games and then out to the yard for a game of croquet with his dad Raymond. What memories. Great friends are never forgotten, never. My sincere condolences to his wonderful mom Garnet and brother Gary.

I send you my thoughts and prayers during this loss. Larry was a terrific person and enjoyed what he did in life. I best remember him in his teens as baseball pitcher, he was awesome on the mound. Prayers and love send to comfort you during this time.
