Jean Austin Balser, 78, of 1100 Sunset Drive in Greensboro, passed away April 11, 2011 at her home. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, April 14, at Overlook Cemetery in Eden, NC. Mrs. Balser was born October 8, 1932 in Spray, NC, daughter of the late Minnie Austin Roberts. She was a former member of Kings Highway Christian Church for many years. Surviving are her two daughters, Robin Mims and husband, Jim and Fran Lusk and husband, Bill, both of Greensboro; beloved granddaughter, Logan Elizabeth Mims of Greensboro; and special family member, Kaitlyn Lusk of Greensboro. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Balser. Memorial contributions may be made to ACES (Adult Center for Enrichment), PO Box 13048, Greensboro, NC 27415, or to Rockingham County Animal Shelter, PO Box 206, Wentworth, NC 27375. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Fair Funeral Home. They will also have a visitation at the residence in Greensboro, 1100 Sunset Drive, from 6 - 8 PM on Thursday evening.

Jean was a wonderful lady and we always had such great times playing the piano and singing all of those years ago.
