George "Nathan" Agee, 81, of 313 S. Center Street, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Brian Center in Eden. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 26, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Danview Cemetery. Mr. Agee was born April 20, 1929 in Patrick County, Virginia, son of the late Isaac Stafford and RosieBell Compton Agee. He attended Draper Christian Church. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, church activities and spending time with family. Mr. Agee was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. Surviving are his daughters, Karen Byrd and husband, Richard of Albemarle, NC and Wendy Moore and husband, Tom of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Bryant Byrd and wife, Genna, Jason Byrd and wife, Romina, Daniel Fargis and Hannah Moore; four great-grandchildren, Noah and Elizabeth Byrd and Sofia and Miya Byrd; and sisters, Reva Custer and husband, Roger and Frances Meeks and husband, Talmadge; and brother, James Agee and wife, Rose. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Chilton Agee; brothers, Alton and Sammie Agee; and sisters, Clara Carey, Annie Hylton, and Lena Whitney.
