Leonard Elwood Largen, 75, of 752 Garrett Road, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 26, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. A native of Rockingham County, Mr. Largen was born April 25, 1935, son of the late Bert and Daisy Morrison Largen. He was a US Army veteran and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. Surviving is son, Donald Largen of Stoneville; and brother, George Largen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Watkins Largen; two sons, Leonard Largen, Jr. and James Largen; brother, Richard Largen; and sister, Doris Jeffries. The family would like to offer a special thanks to his long-time companion and caregiver, Helen Barnes, as well as to Hospice of Rockingham County for the care given to Mr. Largen during his illness.
