Charles Edward Lillard, 77, passed away on Friday July 16, 2021 at the UNC Rockingham Health Care.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 20th at 11:00am at the Fair Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service with burial to follow at Lawson Cemetery with Military Honors performed by the Rockingham Co. Veterans Honor Guard.

Mr. Lillard was born May 28, 1944 to the late Harry Edward Lillard and Mary Bernice Smart Lillard in Draper, NC.  He served in the US Army. He was employed by Fieldcrest as a Machinist after 28 years then he worked for Morgan Machanical Millwright then retired after 14 years. He was also a member of the  Carpenters Union Millwright #312

Charles is survived by his wife of 23 years,Trudy Owens Lillard, daughters; Loticia Woods and Angela Simpson of Eden; step-daughters; Melissa Beasley of Chesterfield Co. VA and Amy Dalton of Greensboro; eight grand children, one great-grand child and a brother Herman Lillard of Martinsville, VA.

Besides his parents, Mr. Lillard was preceded in death by a step-son, D.J. Overton.

So sorry for your loss. We have lost several parents....there are no words. Vickie's mother is our last and just turned 100 in a facility in Danville.

I meet Charles back in the 70's He was always so much fun to hang out with and never met anyone he did not like that I know of I lost contact with him when I moved to NYC. I will always look back on those days in the 70 with laughter and and Happiness you will be missed
