Malcolm Dale Young, 77, of 1995 Hwy N.C. 135, Eden, NC passed away Saturday evening, February 19th at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, NC. There will be a graveside service Tuesday February 22, 2:00 pm at Overlook Cemetery, held by Fair Funeral Home. Mr. Young was born April 14, 1933 in Spray NC to the late William Thomas and Gladys Woodall Young. In past years he was a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church, and he also served in the US Air Force from 1951 - 1954. He worked at Fieldcrest Mills for 20 years, and General Electric for 11 years. He was a truck driver for both. Malcolm Dale Young is survived by his wife Martha Ann Young of the home, three daughters; Stephanie Howerton and husband Steve of Eden, Denise Baker and husband Keith of Phoenix, AZ and Penny Hill and husband Randy of Eden, one brother James Young and wife Betty of Eden, and one sister Iris Scillian of Pembroke, KY, five grandchildren; Grace Howerton, Josh, Dustin and Austin Hill, and Conner Isaly, and numerous neices and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Stephen Thomas and two brothers Tom and Andrew Young. The family will hold a visitation Monday evening at 6pm at his home, 1995 Hwy 135, Eden, NC. Mrs. Young and family, I just heard about Mack's passing and my heart breaks for you. Mack and I drove a truck together and rode together at General Electric and shared lots of good times together. Mrs. Young and family, Please accept my condolences for you loss of Mac. While I did not know him well, I know that he was a great neighbor to my Dad and Mom (Paul & Christine Thompson). My Dad thought so highly of him and my Mom has sung his praises. He has been so kind to her following my Dad's death.
