Shirley LaPrad Stowe, 85, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 6, 2021, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care in Eden.

A graveside service will be held at 3 PM on Friday, April 9th, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville.  She will lie in repose on Thursday, 12 Noon to 6 PM and 8 am to 1 pm on Friday, at Fair Funeral Home, for those wishing to come by to pay their respects. The family will be meeting at 1032 E. Stadium Drive in Eden.

Born August 2, 1935 in Rockingham County, NC, Shirley was the daughter of the late Joseph Calvin LaPrad and Mable Lawrence LaPrad.  She was a member of Draper Christian Church and was part of the Ladies Love Circle.  Shirley loved cooking and visiting people in nursing homes.  She retired from the E. I. DuPont Company.  

She is survived by her two sons, Franklin “Dean” Stowe (Debbie) of Delaware and Steven “Steve” Wayne Stowe (Melinda) of Stoneville; three grandchildren, Deana Coulter, Amy Beachell and Jessica Stowe; and six great-grandchildren, Hallie Coulter, Leah Coulter, Addyson Coulter, Josiah Coulter, all of Florida and Katelyn and Logan Beachell of Delaware.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Delano Stowe and her sisters, Christine Harris, Inez Cobb, Julia Kallam and Elizabeth Poindexter; brothers, George and Edward LePrad.

Memorial contributions may be made to Draper Christian Church, 1122 W. Fieldcrest Rd., Eden, NC 27288.

Condolences to the Stowe family and all who loved Shirley. She was a great Christian lady. I’ll miss seeing her at Draper Christian Church. She always had a smile and kind words. Rest In Peace faithful servant.
