Eunice Watkins Smith, age 88 formerly of Henry Street, Stoneville, passed away on Sunday morning February 13, 2011 at Jacob's Creek Nursing and Rehab. Center (formerly Britthaven) in Madison. Funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Eunice was born February 18, 1922 in Rockingham County to the late Joe Frank and Ruby Robertson Smith. She was a homemaker and member of Hodgin Memorial Methodist Church and attended First Baptist Church of Stoneville. She was preceded in death along with her parents, her husbands; Fletcher W. Watkins and William H. Smith, a sister; Mary Rose Norman. Surviving is her son; James W. Watkins and wife Jane of Soddy Daisy, Tenn. , grandson; James W. Watkins, Jr. "Jimmy" and wife Denise, great grandsons; J.W. and Jacob Watkins all of Cookeville, Tenn., brothers; Joe David Smith of Martinsville, Jamie Smith, Charles Smith and Ralph Smith all of Stoneville, sisters; Lexie Glenn of Winston Salem and Reba Batten of Wilmington. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7 - 9 Pm at Fair Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, Po Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
