Margaret Moorefield Hutcherson, loving and devoted mama, 93, formerly of Norman Drive in Eden, but most recently of Summit Place in Simpsonville, SC, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 27, 2011 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 30 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hutcherson was born February 22, 1917 in Stokes County, daughter of the late Lemuel E. and Sarah Ellen Murphy Moorefield. She was a member of Leaksville Christian Church and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills / Karastan. Surviving is daughter, Carol Stafford and husband, Jack of Simpsonville, SC; two sons, James Reid Hutcherson and wife, Myrtle of Eden and Steve Hutcherson and wife, Brenda of Flat Rock, NC; brothers, Clyde Moorefield and wife, Helen of Morehead City and Larry Moorefield and wife, Helen of Mt. Airy; six grandchildren, Drew Martin, Kim Petty, Stephanie Orr, Matthew Hutcherson, Chris Hutcherson, and B. J. Holland; and eight great-grandchildren, Jennifer Martin, Caroline Martin, Brenna Orr, Sarah Orr, Tyler Petty, Jon Mark Petty, C. J. Holland, and Danika Holland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin R. Hutcherson; daughter, Cindy Hutcherson; brothers, Henry, Earl and Jim Moorefield; sister, Sarah Maners. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home. Visitation at other times will be held at the home of James and Myrtle Hutcherson, 623 Prospect Street in Eden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice House of Greenville, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
