William “Billy” Faircloth, age 72, of Brown Summit, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Hospice of Rockingham County.

To honor Billy’s wishes, he will be cremated and no formal services will be set at this time.

He was born June 13, 1948 in Clinton, NC, to the late Manley and Elois (Goodrich) Faircloth.  Billy was a master carpenter and brick mason by trade.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  Billy and his wife, Carolyn, loved to travel.  One of their most memorable trips was when they went to Hawaii and celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.  Traveling to the mountains and to the beach was the destinations of choice until Billy’s health began to fail.  He never met a stranger.  He enjoyed working out in the yard and tinkering in his shop.

Besides his wife of 41 years, he is survived by his children; William Faircloth, Jr. of Elkin, NC, Deana Bryant of Elkin, NC, Scott Clubb of St. Matthews, SC., and Sandy Faircloth of Rockingham, NC.; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Larry Faircloth of Greensboro, NC, Toni Stewart of Greensboro, NC, Iris Adams of Greensboro, NC, Sybil Harrington of Gibsonville, NC, and Edwina Pegram of Lake Norman, NC.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Edger Cable; a granddaughter, Courtney Faircloth; brother, Weldon Faircloth and sister, Terry Coble.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, where Billy spent his last days under the outstanding care of all the nurses and physicians who cared for him.

It was such a great pleasure getting to know Mr Faircloth he was such a sweet and kind person we would talk about his dog and all the trips he had went on with his wife and he would always tried to give me candy I am surely going to miss him Jill Martin (Brian Center)

I only met you a few times when you came down to South Carolina at Scott and Monica but you made me feel as part as the family. You will be missed dearly. RIP until we meet again one day.
