Ralph Wayne Brooks, 72, of Eden, NC passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at V. A. Medical Center in Durham. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, January 29 from 3 - 4 PM at Leaksville Christian Church. A funeral service will be held at 4 PM. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Eden Moose Lodge from 5:30 to 7 pm after the burial. A native of Rockingham County, Mr. Brooks was born February 14, 1938, son of the late Louis R. and Myrtle Dunn Brooks. He was a member of Leaksville Christian Church and a retired meat cutter for Richard's Meats in Reidsville. Mr. Brooks was a member of the local Moose Lodge and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. His contagious laugh, wit and warm personality will be missed. Surviving are his children; Rodney W. Brooks and wife, Terry of Raleigh, Beverly D. Brooks of Marietta, GA, Ralph Crouse of Greensboro, and Krista Crouse of Whittier; granddaughter, Vivian Elizabeth Brooks; and brothers, James Brooks and wife, Susan of Charlotte, and Garry Brooks of Rutherfordton.
