James “Howard” Lemons, 80, of Stoneville, passed away Monday evening, June 1, 2020, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, June 4, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. 

Mr. Lemons was born January 21, 1940 in Stoneville, NC, to the late William Taft Lemons and Myrtle Elizabeth Sullivan Lemons.  He was a graduate of Stoneville High School, Class of 1958 and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.  Howard enjoyed farming, horses, and mechanic work.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Lemons of the home; his four children, Buster Lemons (Diana Sparks) of Madison, Andrew Lemons (Amy) of Stoneville, Sandy Lester (Greg) of Stoneville, and Mickie Stewart (Dwayne) of Franklinville; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

I never got to meet Mr Lemons but I have worked with his son Buster for over 30 years, just knowing Buster and how he talked about his dad he must have been a very good man! My condolences to the family and pray that God gives you peace during this difficult time.
