Dorothy “Sugar” Martin Beach, 93, of Eden, passed away Thursday evening, May 14, 2020, at Bright Leaf Place in Danville, VA.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, May 18, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville, NC.  Mrs. Beach will lie in state Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, for those wishing to pay their respects.  The service will be live-streamed on the Facebook page of Fair Funeral Home for those unable to attend due to the restrictions that have been imposed regarding the number of attendees.

Mrs. Beach was born September 12, 1926 to the late Raymond and Prudence Graham Martin.  She was a member of Spray Baptist Church and was a retiree of Tri-City Insurance. 

She is survived by her son, James Beach and wife, Brenda of Eden;  five grandchildren, Tonya Miller of Newport News, VA, Stuart Beach of Richmond, VA, Paige Gonzalez of Richmond, VA, Joel Beach of Ft. Campbell, KY, and Daniel Beach of Richmond, VA;  and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Maynard Beach; son, Clarence M. Beach, Jr. and great-granddaughter, Kendall Miller.

We were so sorry to see where Mrs. Beach passed away. She was a very sweet lady. Always had a smile. Her husband worked with Gaylord at Western Southern insurance and that is where we got to know this fine couple. James and Brenda are our neighbors and we especially extend our condulance to them.

I am so very sorry to hear of your mothers passing. She was a very sweet and kind lady. You was such a wonderful caring son to her. I always enjoyed talking with y’all when you came into Eden Drug. I loved when she would talk about her (cat me 2) she loved that cat. You was a very blessed man to have her as a mother and she was a very blessed women to have you as a son. Until y’all meet again.
