Daniel William Daly, Jr. age 89 of Eden, NC, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, May 13, 2020 at Moses Cone Hospital.
A Memorial Mass service will be announced at a later date with Full Military Honors, a private inurnment will follow at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Mr. Daly was born January 21, 1931 in Albany, NY to the late Daniel W. Daly, Sr. and Gladys May Otto Daly. He was a graduate of University of Maryland where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree and he later received his Masters Degree from N.C. State University. Dan was a US Naval Reservist from 1948 till 1953 and later served active duty in the U.S. Army from 1953 till 1955. He was a member of St. Joseph of the Hills Catholic Church in Eden and retired as a Loan Specialist from the USDA in Greensboro.
Mr. Daly is survived by wife, Patricia Anne Headford Daly of the home; sons, Daniel W. Daly, III. of Pinehurst, NC, Patrick Daly of Graham, Christopher Daly of Greenville, NC, Timothy Daly of Knoxville, TN , Robert Daly of Greensboro and Kevin Daly of Brown Summit, Sean Daly of Greensboro; daughters, Kathleen Daly Heckman of Raleigh, Mary Fitch of Greensboro, Shannon Swain of Denver, NC; 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, David, Gerald and John
Daly.
