Mary Wells McLeod Tulloch, 83, passed away Monday morning, March 16, 2020, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Reidsville.

 

A memorial service and celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a later date. Fair Funeral Home will publish the details once they are available.

 

Mrs. Tulloch was born August 13, 1936 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, to the late John R. McLeod and Ruth Wells McLeod.  She was an active member of Church of the Epiphany having helped to create the church’s columbarium and served on the Altar Guild for many years.  Mary was also very active in community organizations having served as President of Junior Service League and of Eden Woman’s Club;  active in Rockingham County Heart Association and Chairman of City of Eden’s Appearance Commission.  She served on the Board of Morehead Hospital Foundation and was a member of Town and Country Garden Club.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Atkins of Eden;  son, David “Andy”Atkins and wife, Mandy, of Tupelo, MS;  three grandchildren, Cara Combs of Eden, Amber Atkins of Canton, MS and Madison Cook and husband, Tyler, of Tupelo, MS; step-daughters, Vicky Petty and husband, Rocky, and Charlotte Maness and husband, Duane, both of Eden, along with their loving children and grandchildren;  and two brothers, James L. McLeod of Augusta, GA and John R. McLeod of Evans, GA.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Cleatus Franklin “Buddy” Tulloch, Jr. and her brother, Charles "Chuck" McLeod.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or to Church of the Epiphany, 538 Henry Street, Eden, NC  27288.

So sorry to hear of Mary's passing. Recently heard from Joanna and Sylvia or her hospitalization. She caught for many years. Such a special friend with a smile and loving presence. A great golfer and enjoyed our outings. She has already been missed over the past recent years. Prayers.
