James Harless Stoots, 90, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 5, 2020, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care in Eden.
A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 8, at Lawson Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by Rockingham County Veteran's Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard.
A native of Rockingham County, NC, Mr. Stoots was born March 19, 1929 to the late Louie and Dicie Stoots. He was a US Army veteran and a retiree of AT&T.
He is survived by two daughters by marriage, Pat Keaton Altman of Raleigh and Pam Keaton Marshburn and husband, Randy, of Wilson; two grandchildren, Clair Winn Green of Raleigh and Lauren Marshburn Cain and husband, Erich both of Raleigh; and two great-grandchildren, Emma Clair Green and Bryan Keaton Green, both of Raleigh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Idellis Stoots and his first wife Clara Stoots, his sister Louise Matherly; and his grandson, Daniel Lee Winn.
