Jane Thompson Ferguson, age 75 of 224 Garrett Road, Eden passed away on Friday evening at UNC Rockingham Health Care Emergency Room.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at her residence.

Mrs. Ferguson was born July 21, 1944 in Leaksville, NC to the late Jack E. Thompson and Mary Frances Carter Thompson.  She retired from Rockingham County Schools as manager of the cafeteria.  Jane loved her Lord and her church, New Beginnings Church where she a member of the Ladies Bible Study group.  Sports and reading were her favorite pastimes.  Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister were her favorite loves.

Preceded her in death along with her parents; husband, Andrew Ferguson, Sr. and son, James Duggins.

Surviving are daughter, Sara Duggins; step-daughter, Rena Lee; step-sons, Andrew Ferguson, Jr. and Darryl Ferguson; sister Mary Wilson; grandchildren, Amy, Adam and Ashley Duggins; great grandchildren, Aaliyah Graves, Naomi Wagoner, Abigail Duggins, Aubree Duggins and Tristan Shelton.

Family my heart breaks for you. Jane was part of my Church family. Also her and my mama Charlotte Church McDaniel went to school together. She will be missed by everyone. We are all heart broken but can you imagine what shes doing???PRAISING AND SHOUTING WITH THE GOD SHE LOVED!!! How wonderful! Love and prayers to all

My condolences to the family. Jane was always involved at St. Lukes Church, as I remember her. She was avid softball player, a mighty good one as I remember. Always likeable and friendly. May God bless the family during this difficult time and be with in the days ahead.
