Linda Leake Hartley, 68, of 6003 Horsepasture Price Road, Ridgeway, VA, passed away January 1, 2011, at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 3, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway,VA. Fair Funeral Home is serving the family. Ms. Hartley was born April 25, 1942, in Price, NC, to the late Rev. Harold C. and Verta Durham Leake. She attended college and became a medical surgical nurse. She was retired from Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County, where she worked for approximately 25 years. She was a faithful member of Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church for approximately 10 years. Previously, she attended Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church for approximately 25 years. She was actively involved in Bible Quest and Women's Ministries while at Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Ms. Hartley is survived by two sisters: Judie Martin of Stoneville, NC, and Nancy Harolyn Leake Lancaster of Ridgeway, VA and formerly, Greenville, NC. She is survived by three nephews: Travis Martin and wife, Kelly, of Mayodan, NC; Ryan Martin and wife, Heather, of Kernersville, NC; and Clevie Lancaster and special friend, Stephanie Batchelor, of Greenville, NC. Ms. Hartley is survived by four great nieces: Kennedy, Aubrey, and Molly Martin, and Flora Lancaster, as well as one uncle, Ralph Leake and wife, Mildred, of Stoneville, NC; and one aunt, Audrey Durham, of Stoneville, NC. Ms. Hartley also is survived by numerous cousins. Ms. Hartley had no children but acted as a second mother to each of her nephews. Visitation was held Sunday, January 2, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and at other times at the home of Judie Martin, located at 661 Anglin Mill Road, Stoneville, NC. Judie, Harolyn & family. We send our heartfelt sympathies to all at this sad time. We remember Linda as a beautiful lady with a lot of motherly instincts in caring for the family. Would love to be able to come for the funeral but we are not able at this time. You can rest assured that our thoughts and prayers have been with you, since learning about Linda's passing.
