James "Bugger" Reed Barber of 2222 Third Street, Eden passed away at his home on Friday evening August 23, 2019. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 30,2019 at 1:00pm at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with full Military Honors performed by the US Army National Guard and the Rockingham County Honor Guard.  A visitation will follow the service.

"Bugger" was born October 27, 1953 in the Leaksville section of Eden to the late Johnny and Dorothy Hylton Barber.  He was a graduate of Morehead High School Class of 1972.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked in construction for Osborne Construction and more recently for Dave's Construction.  "Bugger" was a "Jack of all Trades" and mastered them all.

Surviving are wife Marion Fay Lambert Barber of the home; brother, Eddie Barber and wife Betty of Wentworth; sister, Janie Patterson and husband Joseph G. Patterson II of Eden; nephew, Col. Joseph G. Patterson III of Washington, D.C. area; niece Melissa Barber and nephew Billy and many other special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death along with his parents and nephew, Chris Patterson.
