Ruth Manring Howell, age 84 of 608 Stadium Drive, Eden passed away at Annie Penn Hospital on Monday morning December 13, 2010. Funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Howell was born in Stokes County on May 6, 1926 to the late John and Beadie Gray Manring. She attended the First Wesleyan Church of Eden and retired from American Tobacco after 42 years of service. She was preceded in death along with her parents; her husband of 31 years, Earl Lester Howell and a brother; Dewey Manring. Survivors include sons; Charles W. Hall and Clyde "Gary" Hall , brother; Clay Manring and sister Peggy Smith all of Reidsville, granchildren; Michael Hall, Robin Brown, Brian Hall and Amy Barnes. four greatgrandchildren. Family will receive friends at Fair Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm and other times at the sons home, Gary, 110 Cedar Run Drive, Reidsville.
