George William "Bill" Jarrell, age 95, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden. The funeral service for Mr. Jarrell will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 2 at Mt. Herman Baptist Church on Ashley Loop in Reidsville. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. William was born on March 21, 1915 in Rockingham County to the former Richard Turner Jarrell and Betty Stultz Jarrell. He was a farmer and worked for several years at Globe Union Battery in the quality control area. Most of his working life was with Burlington Industries as a supervisor in various plants. Mr. Jarrell was a dedicated member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church where his grandmother was a charter member. He served in many capacities over the years including Deacon, Trustee and Sunday School teacher. Surviving are his wife of 74 years, Hattie Parks Jarrell; daughter, Billie Jarrell Thomas and husband, John of Reidsville; grandchildren, James R. Thomas and wife, Debbie of Bahama, NC, and Sharon T. Justice of Greenville, SC; great-grandchildren, Ben and Matthew Johnson, Hannah, Faith, and Luke Justice, and Victoria Mullins; and a great-great-grandchild, Cameron Smith. The family will receive visitors and friends Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home in Eden and other times at the home located at 198 Jarrell Farm Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
