George Gilley, 51, of 111 Staley Boswell Road in Yanceyville, passed away Thursday morning, November 11, 2010 at Jefferson Care Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, November 14 at Overlook Cemetery. Mr. Gilley was born July 1, 1959 in Rockingham County, son of the late Emmett Cleveland and Nancy Fowler Gilley. He was a US Navy veteran. Surviving is his brother, Gregory Gilley and wife, Debbie of Eden; nephew, Michael Jarrell; Aunts, Elaine Howell, Eunice Gauldin and husband, Luke, Jacqueline Barker and husband, Belvin, Joe Ann Goad and husband, Clyde; and numerous cousins. The family will receive friends on Saturday, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of his brother, 1040 Lincoln Street in Eden.
