Gladys Myers Weldin, formerly of 318 Taft St. in Eden passed away Late Saturday evening October 9, 2010. There will be a graveside Monday 11:00 am at Ridge-View Memorial Gardens, with Fair Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Weldin was born in Rockingham County to the late William Hobart and Mary Newman Myers. She worked for many years at Mitchell's Drugstore as the manager of the kitchen area. Gladys Weldin is survived by her daughter, Marsha Robertson and husband Joseph of Eden, two sisters Majorie Tysor and Bobbie Myers Wikle both of Eden, four grandchildren, Jordan Robertson of Greensboro, NC, Melissa Martin and husband Wes of Eden, Angel Robertson and Grace Robertson both of Eden. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Sloan Weldin. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Pam Smith, loving caregiver, The Eden Brian Center, and Dr. Kevin Howard for all their help and assistance. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Rockingham County Hospice; 2150 NC 65, Wentworth, NC 27320, and the Gideons; The Gideons International, P.O. 140800, Nashville TN, 37214- 0800.
Marsha, I just learned about your mother. I am so sorry!I know she has been sick for a long time and you have done everything possible for her, you, Joey and all of the children. Just keep your mind on the good times you had with her. You were her life after your dad died! Now she is with him and in the arm of God. No more hurting or suffering! I am so sorry I was not here. I just got back to town late this afternoon. And decided to look on the enternet to see what was going on and seen on Fair's site about your mother.
