Roy "Skeeter" Leon East, 48, of 9083 NC Hwy 700 in Ruffin, passed away Friday morning, September 10, 2010 at Brian Center in Yanceyville. A funeral service will be held at 4 PM on Monday, September 13, at Happy Home Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Rockingham County, Mr. East was born September 27, 1961. Surviving is his mother, Betty Malloy East of the home; sisters, Jean Domina of Eden, Linda Moore of Reidsville, and Cathy Cook of Burlington; brothers, Raymond East of Eden, Jimmy Richmond of Chatham, VA, and Darrell Clark of the home; uncle, Edward Cobb of Reidsville; aunt, Dorothy Phipps of Reidsville; special niece, Tonya East of Ruffin and numerous other nieces an nephews; special caretaker, Laura Mayo of Caswell County; and his special companion, his dog "Trixie". He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Bracken East. The family will receive friends Sunday evening 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
