Agnes Jane Chilton Agee, 81, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 5, 2010 at Morehead Nursing Center. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 9, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Danview Cemetery. Mrs. Agee was born January 14, 1928, daughter of the late Cullen Bryant and Louvie Belton Chilton. She attended Draper Christian Church. She enjoyed writing poems and songs and collecting elephant figurines. Surviving is her husband, George "Nathan" Agee; two daughters, Karen Agee Byrd and husband, Richard, and Wendy Agee Moore and husband, Thomas; four grandchildren, Bryant Lee Byrd and wife, Genna, Jason Lane Byrd and wife, Romina, Daniel Glenn Fargis and Hannah Elizabeth Moore; four great-grandchildren, Noah Daniel and Elizabeth Grace Byrd and Isabel Sofia and Miya Luz Byrd; sister, Ethel "Sadie" Corns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dillard Bryant Chilton; and sister, Omeda Chilton Wooten. The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered to the Agee family at www.fairfuneralhome.com
I have so many wonderful childhood memories of Agnes, she will live in my heart forever. God Bless everyone during this time. My prayers are with you.

Hi Nathan, Karen, and Wendy. I was saddened to hear of your mother's passing this week. She certainly has fought a good fight since her aneurysm many years ago.
