Alma Jones Hicks, 84, of 128 Brammer Road, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hicks was born February 6, 1926 in Rockingham County, daughter of the late Houston and Lillie Bondurant Jones. She was a member of Leaksville Christian Church. Surviving is her husband, George Hicks of the home; her three children, Robert Hicks and wife, Eileen of Stoneville, Carolyn Loye and husband, Junior of Reidsville, and Linda Hunt and husband, Sam of Cascade, VA; seven grandchildren, Bob Hicks and wife, Stephanie, Jonathan Hicks and wife, Wendy, Jeff Farmer, Matt Loye and wife, Taryn, Chris Loye and wife, Kim, Jamie Hunt and wife, Misty, and Regina Carter and husband, Bryant; and 17 great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to a special sister-in-law and aunt, Doris Jean Kallam; and also to the nurses and staff at Brian Center in Eden. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening, 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
