Ruth Pope, 91, formerly of Eden, passed away Thursday morning, August 22, 2013, at Camden Place in Greensboro.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 24, at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Pope was born September 9, 1921 in Rockingham County, NC; daughter of the late James Marion Griffith and Ada Belle Scott Griffith. She attended Eden First Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.
She is survived by her son, William Ray Parrish and wife, Sarah of Fayetteville; daughters, Wanda Sams of Greensboro and Sheree Martin and husband, Tommy, of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Renee, Kelly and Amy; three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Bryson and Courtney; brother, Walter Frank Griffith and wife, Sybil of Eden; and sister, Lucille Woodall and husband, Nelson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Spencer Pope.
There will be no formal visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
