Betty Jean Tanksley Gearhart, 77, of 5405 Greywood Drive in Greensboro, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 14, 2010 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. There will be no service at this time. Ms. Gearhart was born October 24, 1932 in Latimer County, OK, daughter of the late Henry and Ethel Woodard Tanksley. She was a former employee of Scientific Micro Systems. Surviving is her daughter, Debra Gearhart of the home; two sons, Robert E. Gearhart and wife, Lisa of Burnt Chimney, VA and Richard S. Gearhart and wife, Dana of Stoneville; four grandchildren; and sister, Sue Rivera of San Jose, CA. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20004.
