Sammy and I would like to send our condolences the family in your time of loss. This is a loss that involves us knowing most of the family for one reason or another. School, work, and day to day life, thus I felt that it was important to send our thoughts and prayers along to all.

There are never the right words to express how deeply sad I am that you have to endure your loss. Cleatis will be truly missed by everyone who knew her no matter where they crossed her path in life. We were neighbors for many years throughout our childhood as well as some of our adult life. I am so glad that my mom took the time to visit Cleatis just a few weeks ago. Mom kept saying that she wanted to go visit Cleatis, but years went by and something always came up. After the two of them finally got together, mom talked about it for days. I could see the sparkle in her eyes as she reminisced about the good old days. Cleatis was a giver, not a taker. She was always there to help no matter how busy she was; no matter the time of day; and, never asking or needing anything in return. Friends like Cleatis are few in life, and it is with a heavy heart that I also grieve with your loss. Memories of our times together regardless of where we where or what we were doing will be forever held dear to me. May your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.

Vanesa, John, Zack, Jimmy Dean.......I loved your mom so much. She was so good to me and to my family. Mom and her were neighbors so long, all of us growing up together, it just will not be the same going to see Mom without her smiling and waving at me from her porch. My daughter Martha loved her so much. Martha would go down and talk to her a lot. Your mom gave me and my kids so many things, she had a heart of gold and was always looking after Ruby Strader before she passed. I would take her a plate a lot of times and she would tell me things, talk to me, treated me like family. We would listen to gospel tapes sometimes, and just talk. She would give me flowers to root, and I just will miss her so much. I am praying for all of you, I will never forget your mom, she was one of a kind and she was so very proud of you Vanesa and what you did with your life. She was proud of you John and Zack and Jimmy Dean. She was proud of all of you. She would tell me of your life, and things you did for her. She loved so many and was always willing to give a hand to those in need. God be with you all in this sad time. Love Yvonne Stevens Freeman
