Ada Thacker O'Dell, 96 of 6400 Mitchell Road, Ridgeway, VA passed away on Thursday July 4, 2013 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Martinsville, VA. A funeral service will be held 4 pm Sunday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway.
Mrs. O'Dell was born March 8, 1917 in Henry County, VA to the late Jesse Franklin Thacker and Laura Esther Thacker. She was retired from Bassett Walker Knitting Company with 42 years of service. Ada was a member of the Ridgeway Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Thomas O'Dell; sisters, Mozelle Pulliam and Ethel Wilson; brother, Herman Thacker.
Surviving are neices and their spouses, Arlene and Robert Smithers of Ridgeway, Laverne and John Tullock of Greensboro and Janet and Roy Boardwine of Ridgeway; nephew, Gary Pulliam and wife Barbara of Ridgeway; great nieces and nephews, Makayla Smithers, Jasmine Boardwine, Brian Pulliam and Kevin Pulliam; caregiver and friend, Liz Martin of Ridgeway.
The family will have a visitation on Saturday evening from 7-9 pm at Fair Funeral Home in Eden and other times at her home.
