Mr. Gary Wayne Smith, 74, of Eden, N.C. passed away Monday, June 28 at UNC Rockingham Healthcare. 

A Funeral Service will be held at Fair Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Dan View Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born on October 25, 1946 to the late Edgar L. and Geraldine Liversay Smith. He was a member of Mayfield Baptist Church. Gary was formerly employed at Miller-Coors Canning Company where he worked as a Machine Operator.  He loved to listen to Gospel and Blue Grass Music.  Some of his favorite things to do were fishing, camping and going to the mountains. He loved watching sports and NASCAR and looking after his cats.

Gary was preceded in death along with his parents and by his daughter, Lisa Smith Ryals, brother, Jimmy Smith and sister, Linda Fuller.

Gary is survived by his wife, Carol Chilton Smith of the home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Michelle Kent (Sanders); and Jodi Bowers; two sons, Jason Smith and John Hyler (Lynn); all of Eden. He is also survived by two sisters, Patti Patterson (Tommy); of Reidsville and Anita Baker (Danny); of Gastonia, one brother, William Smith of Reidsville, eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grand-children.
