Nora “Elaine” Gilley Land, 81, passed away early Monday morning, May 3, 2021, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care in Eden.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 7th, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Overlook Cemetery.  The service will be live-streamed on the Facebook page of Fair Funeral Home. She will lie in repose on Thursday afternoon, 12 Noon to 5 PM for those wishing to come by to pay their respects.

Born December 9, 1939 in Draper, NC, Elaine was the daughter of the late Clyde Forrest Gilley and Essie McCormick Gilley.  She was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills after 38 years of service.  After retirement she worked for Eden Drug.  Elaine enjoyed being with her family, having lunch with the Fieldcrest ladies lunch club and she enjoyed going to the Senior Center.

She is survived by her son, Audie Land (Kathy) of Eden; nephew, Paul Dishmon (Cindy) of Eden; four grandchildren, A. J. Land, David Pulliam, JoAnna Hanna and Robin Wilson (James); four great-grandchildren; three siblings, Sandy Willoughby of Eden, Forrest Clyde Gilley (Sylvia) of Madison and Sam Gilley (Sandra) of California; and brother-in-law, Billy Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Audry “Tony” Junior Land; grandson, Andy Pulliam; and four siblings, LeRoy Gilley, William Gilley, Deloras Willoughby and Glenda Gilley
