Kenneth Gregory Stratton, Sr., 51, loving son, dad, brother, grandpa and uncle, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, at his home following a lengthy illness.

A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, January 17, Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Due to COVID restrictions, the service will be limited to family members.

Kenny was born December 20, 1969 in Eden, NC. He was a graduate of Morehead High School, class of 1988 and worked for Ball Corporation until becoming disabled. Anyone who knew Kenny, knew his mother was his hero. They also knew this loving, smart man will never be forgotten, but truly missed.

He will be missed by his father, Ronald “Byrd” Stratton (Sherry); mother, Ruth Hazelwood Cheshire (Ronnie); his four children, Kenneth Gregory Stratton, Jr., Kendra Shay Stratton, Madison Paige Stratton and Hunter Logan Stratton; two grandchildren, Xander and Athena; sister, Tammie Kallam (Russell); step-sisters, Margaret Evans, Susan King, Michelle Kosmos, Belinda Poteat and Rhonda Thomas; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Preceding him in death were his paternal and maternal grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Tri-City Rescue Squad, 106 Mabel Street, Eden, NC 27288.

I knew Kenny quite well and at different times have been known to just come by and visit and chat with him. He once offered shelter to me when I didn't have anywhere to go at that moment.
