Hazel Marie Willard Martin, 92, of Eden, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 10, 2020 at UNC-Rockingham Rehab and Nursing Care Center.
A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 13. Mrs. Martin will lie-in-state at Fair Funeral Home on Friday afternoon for those that would like to come by to pay their respects.
Hazel was born on July 9, 1927 in Rockingham County, NC daughter of the late Tomie Lee Willard and Minnie Sigmon Willard. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Martin (Sheree) of Greensboro; daughter, Tanya Scearce (Terry) of Statesville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlis “CJ” Martin; her son, Sammy Martin; and sister, Ethel Butler.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at UNC-Rockingham Rehab and Nursing Care Center for their kindness and compassion to our mother.
