Barbara Jean Motley Hopkins, 86, passed away early Saturday morning, April 25, 2020, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care in Eden.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 1, at Danview Cemetery.  Mrs. Hopkins will lie-in-state at Fair Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning for anyone wanting to come by and pay their respects.  The service will be live streamed on the Facebook page of Fair Funeral Home for those unable to attend due to the restrictions that have been imposed regarding the number of attendees.

Mrs. Hopkins was born August 16, 1933 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Ben Clark Motley and James Lois Haley Motley.  She was a member of Draper United Methodist Church and a retiree of Fieldcrest Cannon.

She is survived by her two grandchildren, Chris Rice and Breanna Hopkins, both of Eden; and three great-grandchildren, Allyssa Michelle Rice, Sydney Dawn Rice, and Olivia Claire Rice.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy James Hopkins; son, Jeff Hopkins; daughter, Lisa Rice; and grandson, Josh Jarrell.
