Violet Bobby Carter, 76, of Eden, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the Brian Center.

A memorial service will be held 2pm Sunday at First Church of the Living God on Thomas Street with pastor Jerry Epps and Connie Earls officating. Family will visit with friends following the service.

Violet was born September 20, 1943 in Pittsylvania County to the late Howard and Mary Woodall Carter. She formerly worked Fieldcrest Mills. She loved to sew and do cross word puzzles.

Surviving are son Ricky Cheshire; granddaughters, Heather and Amanda Cheshire; sister, Liz Campbell and brother, Floyd Carter all of Eden.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her companion, Lewis Cheshire, her brothers, Robert and George Carter and a sister, Mary Carter.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fair Funeral Home to help offset the cost of the funeral expenses.
