Sheila Mills Ward, 69, of 315 Greenwood Street in Eden, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 8, 2019, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, May 10, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence and at the home of her daughter.

Sheila was born October 2, 1949 in Draper, NC, to the late William Riddle and Marie Mills Riddle.  She was an avid supporter of Shriner's Children's Hospital.  Her husband and her family were her world.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Ward, of the home;  daughter, Vicki Weddle of Eden;  two grandsons, Richard Weddle, Jr. (Jennifer) of Asheville and Austin Dishmon of Eden; great-granddaughter, Winter Weddle of Asheville; step-daughter, Laurie Blackmon (Brian) of Lancaster, SC;  step-grandchildren, Karsyn Blackmon and Kaley Catoe (Brandon);  step-great-grandchild, Asher Catoe;  best friend / sister, Debra Watkins;  her "fur baby", Taz; along with numerous cousins and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Weddle and granddaughter, Melinda Weddle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fair Funeral Home, PO Box 337, Eden, NC 27289,  to assist with the cost of services.
