Weldon "Wendell" Johnston Bibee, 74, of 203 Vintage Road in Eden, passed away Tuesday evening, February 12, 2019, at his home.

 

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Friday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 

Thursday evening, 6 - 8 pm, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at his residence.

 

Mr. Bibee was born September 10, 1944 in Reidsville, NC, to the late Everette Obie Bibee and Cora Gibson Bibee.  He was a member of Horsepasture Christian Church and a retiree of Golden State Foods.  Wendell was a dedicated Christian man.  He loved mowing and maintaining his yard and spent lots of time feeding and watching his birds.  He was a die-hard Atlanta Braves and Carolina Tarheel's fan.  

 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barnita Biggs Bibee of the home;  two daughters, Wendy "Hot Rod" Gibbs of Eden and Misty Tredway and husband, Jamie, of Stoneville;  son, David Bibee of Eden;  nine grandchildren;  11 great-grandchildren;  sisters, Katherine Sands of Mayodan, Brenda Smith of Eden, Barbara Blevins of Clemmons, and Wanda Wagoner of Eden;  and brother, Tim Bibee of Eden.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde, Everette, Roger and Faylus Bibee; sister, Carlene Hundley;  and loving son-in-law, Dale Gibbs.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC  27375.

Wendall was a really nice gentlemen. Always pleasant to be around and saw him at the ball fields many times. May God comfort the family during these difficult times.
