Mike was a great community leader and involved many things that brought change or value to others. He will definitely be missed in the community. Prayers for the family during this time of loss.

We considered Mike a part of our family--we even called him, Michael "Ray" Redman, because he was always in attendance for all our Ray family gatherings. I will miss his calls and all the many ways he cared for and looked after my Mom and both my Aunts when they were still alive. Mike had a servant's heart, for sure, and he will be sorely missed by the Eden community.

Mike's vivacious smile will always be remembered. Someone took a picture of a small group during our break at the MHS Glee Club Reunion with Mike, Mark Parker and Mac Hodges with some of us girls who loved to be in their company. I'll always cherish that picture and fond memories I have of Mike at events and our chats at Belks. Rest in peace my friend.

Mike's personality & energy were always contagious. I had lost contact with him after our work together at the Eden Daily News some 30 years ago, but we had reconnected recently when I sent him a "Secret Squirrel" greeting to offer my help with his pending Medicare options. He was thrilled to hear from me, but I am saddened to know that I will not enjoy staying in touch with my old friend during his retirement. Mike was one of a kind. His community spirit definitely will be missed.

Rest In Peace Mike you are a one of a kind. Your kindness you showed everyone you met was contagious. You helped us through the hard times when my Dad passed and forever greatful.

In my years with Mike, working at his church with him, he was always proud to serve and I was proud to serve with him. He was an esteemed liturgist and most perfect Verger. He was a perfect compliment to all that was to take place. It was an honor and privilege too know him, serve with him and consider him a true brother. God bless you and be with you. Robert Cook
