Eunice Elaine Carter Zimmerman, 91, loving wife, mother and grandmother,  passed away Tuesday morning, January 22, 2019, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 25, at Fellowship Baptist Church with burial to follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston-Salem.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (10 - 11 AM) at the church and other times at the residence.

Mrs. Zimmerman was born October 30, 1927 in the Leaksville section of Eden, NC, to the late Carl Houston Carter and Olive Perdue Carter.  She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was a retired kindergarten teacher for Salem Baptist Day School after 30 years of teaching.  She loved her Lord and Savior, her children, and her church family.

She is survived by her two sons, Carl Zimmerman and wife, Debra, of Welcome and Mark Zimmerman and wife, Rae, of Winston-Salem;  daughter, Hope Craig of the home;  three grandchildren, Emmanuel Hawks of the home, Amy Reid and husband, Mark, of Wallburg, and Matthew Zimmerman and wife, Hannah, of Spartanburg;  sister, Sue Carter of Eden;  sisters-in-law, Donna Carter and Judy Carter;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Lee Zimmerman;  four brothers;  and two sisters.
