Charles Franklin Earles, Sr., 82, of 791 Riverside Circle, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 2, 2019, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 7, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  The Rockingham County Veteran's Honor Guard and the NC National Guard will perform military rites at the graveside.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (10 - 11 AM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Mr. Earles was born January 20, 1936 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Walter Marshall Earles, Sr. and Lucy Bennett Earles.  He was a US Army veteran and a retiree of Spray Cotton Mill.  Mr. Earles was of the Christian faith.  He will be remembered as a hard working loving father and a humble, giving man. 

He is survived by his five children, Charles Earles, Jr. of the home, Adam Earles and wife, Jessica of Reidsville, Joseph Earles and wife, Samantha of Surfside Beach, SC, Chip Earles of Reidsville and Matthew Earles of Eden; five grandchildren, Anthony Earles and wife, Connie of Eden, Dallas Earles of Surfside Beach, SC, Haley Earles of Reidsville, Brandon Wood of Eden, and Jacob Wood of Stokesdale;  great-grandchildren, Sylvie and Bella Earles;  two step-children, Marilyn Robertson and Buddy Cook, both of Eden;  brothers, Conny Earles and Ray Earles of Eden;  sister, Nancy Meadows;  step-sister, Shirley Cox and husband, Don of Eden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Cox Earles;  brother, Walter Marshall "Nick" Earles, Jr.;  and several step-sisters.
