Jacqueline "Jac" Carter Hamrick, age 89 of Eden passed away on Monday October 29, 2018 at Caswell House Assisted Living in Yanceyville.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Following the service the family will meet at the Morehead-Fair House for a 'Luncheon Reception".

"Jac" was born December 27, 1928 in Rockingham County to the late Barney Jefferson Carter, Sr. and Julie Earls Carter. She was a graduate of Draper High School and Jones Business School. "Jac" was retired from Bank of America.

Preceding her in death along with her parents was her husband, P.W. Hamrick; son, Tim Hamrick; stepmother, Louella Layman Carter; brothers, Barney Jefferson Carter, Jr., Thomas Clifford Carter, James Henry Carter; sisters, Margaret Stultz and Bonita Martin.

Surviving are son, Jim Hamrick and wife Wanda of Eden; grandchildren, Wes Hamrick, Tim Hamrick, Jr. , Kim Woodall and Julie Hamrick; daughter-in-law, Marcia Hamrick of Eden; 10 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home.

So sorry to hear of Jac's passing. I was unable to attend the visitation or the funeral due to health issues but will definitely keep you all in my prayers. I will miss seeing her at our high school get togethers and visiting with all our classmates that remained. Again prayers for the family.
