Evelyn Harris Slaughter, age 94 of Eden, passed away on Friday October 5, 2018 at Beacon Place Hospice Home in Greensboro.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday at First Church of the Brethren with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 – 2 pm at the church.

She was born January 23, 1924 in Rockingham County to the late Charlie and Ola Smith Harris. She retired from Fieldcrest Mills.

Surviving are son, Ron Slaughter and wife Rose of Greensboro; brother Herman Harris and wife Teny of Eden; nephews, Mike Harris and wife Lisa of Raleigh and Ken Jones of Tennessee.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church, First Church of the Brethren, 730 Church Street, Eden, NC 27288
