Condolences For Pastor Johnny B. Dyer

July 5, 1931 - August 5, 2019

Dear Family, What a day of rejoicing it must be in heaven...Johnny has gone home! And while I know you are all sad to have to say goodbye to such a wonderful father, grandfather, husband, and brother, I know Jesus has greeted him with a "Well done, thy good and faithful servant!" Johnny has touched so many lives including mine. He was a powerful influence on me for many years at Roberts Memorial. And while I have not been close to him for many years I still felt his influence on my life so many years later. It was always a joy to see him from time to time around town. His personality was always bold and moving! God bless you all greatly as you adjust to life here without him! Love, Estellé and Bert Gullett

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Pastor Johnny Dyer. He was a very loving man of GOD. He was loved by all of my family, especially my mother Sallie Lemons. He really comforted us by preaching her eulogy. He will be greatly missed. Sending our love to Mrs. Kitty and the entire family.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Mr Dyer. To Jay, Lee and the family, oh what a Homecoming it was though for him to be in the presence of his Lord, our Savior, without a sorry, nor pain, and with his lived ones awaiting him there. Our prayers of comfort are with you, and may the grace & joy of Jesus be with you always.

Johnny was the first pastor I ever had at Roberts Memorial Baptist Church. He baptized me in Matrimony Creek at age 5, and for many years to follow served as an outstanding role model for our family of how a servant of Jesus Christ should live. I have many fond memories of hearing him preach, attending visitation with him, and singing Christmas carols to the community with him and the other church members. He was a good, honest man and I know he was loved by many in Eden and beyond, and many will mourn his loss. While I'm sorry to hear of his passing, I rejoice in the reunion I know he is having in Heaven with all those whom he loved and lost, especially Bunny. And the greatest prize for Johnny is surely to stand at the feet of his risen Lord, and hear the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant".

My father, J. e. Fulcher, worked with “Johnnie” at Duke Power. Remember that Daddy spoke highly of John and considered him to be a friend. My memory of John was him putting a really playhouse in our backyard for some time until he had a place for it for Lee. Thank you, John, I loved playing in the playhouse. My sympathies to the family for your loss.

Dear Lee and Jay and Johnny’s families, Though out of touch for many years, I feel the closeness that family brings together in sad times like this. Johnny’s smile,so aptly captured in this photo, always brought us kindness and his deep concern for our religious beliefs. I am so very sorry to think of you without him in your lives, especially the lives of your children, great and great great grandchildren. The memories we have of Johnny and Bunny are fond and joyful , especially of us together in the old days. I wish you much sympathy. Pam Atkins and Russ Karasik , Jesse and Reed
