Obituary For Ruth Gibson Long Ruth Gibson Long, 88, of 1107 Second Street, passed away Friday afternoon, April 2, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Pfafftown. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery in Eden. Mrs. Long was born January 22, 1922 in Leaksville, NC (now Eden), daughter of the late Jack and Annie Crotts Gibson. She was a retiree of Bate's Nightwear and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her 6 children, Dewey Long, Jr. and wife, Sara of Martinsville, VA, Arthur Long and wife, Mildred of Pelham, Elizabeth Ann Atwater and husband, Joe of Pfafftown, Robert Long of Reidsville, Alice Hobbs and husband, George of Fayetteville, and Jimmy Long and wife, Debbie of Eden; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dewey Long, Sr.; and two children, David Long and Betsy Morton.
