Obituary For Steven Coble Newlin September 11, 1947 - April 6, 2012 ***A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR STEVEN NEWLIN HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR 6 PM ON TUESDAY, APRIL 17, 2012, AT FAIR FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL IN EDEN, NC*** Steven Coble Newlin, 64, died at his home on April 6, 2012. He was born on September 11, 1947. There will not be a formal service. The Newlin family would like to thank the entire community for their love and support of the family as they strove through two generations to maintain a high level of excellence for the Rockingham County School system. Steven graduated from John Motley Morehead High School in 1965. Throughout high school, he played junior varsity and varsity basketball. He attended Appalachian State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1969. He taught social studies at Morehead High School for twenty-six years and coached the Girls‚àö¬¢‚Äö?ᬮ‚Äö?묢 Tennis team and the Junior Varsity Basketball team. For much of his career, Steven managed and scheduled school buses and was advisor to bus drivers. He is survived by one brother Carl Newlin of Eden and nieces Katherine Elizabeth Newlin of Eden and Lisa Sawyers of Wilmington. Steven was preceded in death by his parents Wendell and Alice Newlin and a brother Gregory Blake Newlin. Memorials may be made to the Best Auditorium and Scholarship Fund, P. O.
