Obituary For Eva Odell Wade



Eva Odell Wade, 75, of 356 Denson Road, passed away Friday morning, December 30, 2011 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery. A native of Rockingham County, Mrs. Wade was born February 19, 1936, daughter of the late Joseph and Susie Hopkins Odell. She attended Leaksvill High School and was a member of Gospel Road Baptist Church where she served as church pianist. Mrs. Wade retired from Fieldcrest Mills after 39 years of service. Surviving are her daughters, Phyllis Moore of Danville and Teresa Ayscue and husband, David, of Roxboro; son, Irvin Corum of Eden; sisters, Evelyn Corum and Myrtle Odell, both of Eden; six grandchildren, Carrie Chandler, Joey Corum, Stephanie Bailey, Hannah Moore, Travis Lewis and Ashley Ayscue; and five great-grandchildren, Cole Chandler, Jake Chandler, Kristen Chandler, Brayden Bailey and Tucker Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Lee Corum and second husband, Cecil Wade who passed away in October of this year; and also her son, Tommy L. Corum. The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to Stella Hopper, Lorinda Barrow, Laverne Dickerson and Freda Poppleton, who were Mrs. Wade's caregivers. Their loving care and support are appreciated. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
